Our Curriculum Overview

Driven by Purpose, Defined by Excellence

Career Technical Education (CTE) is the teaching that blends academic and technical skills with the experience and training needed to prosper in today’s marketplace. It prepares students for employment by presenting them with enterprise competencies in a real-world, everyday setting. It incorporates core scholastic learning with the technical and occupational realization that supplies students with corridors to postsecondary education and career professions.

The Career Tech Education Institute (CTEI) combines both disciplines. It guides students at every level in developing practical ingenuity. Statistics show that students who enroll in CTE in high school are more likely to enroll in postsecondary education versus those who do not.2 Texas has many options for education; however, not enough to offer the highest possible match of the most advantageous route to pursue. By equipping a young scholar with education, job skills, licenses, certifications, entrepreneurship, and enterprise proficiency, future success is inevitable.
